Gonda DM Directs CHC Superintendents to Strengthen Public Healthcare Services

Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan chaired the monthly District Health Society meeting at the Collectorate auditorium, issuing a series of directives to improve healthcare delivery and ensure the effective implementation of government health programmes across the district.

A comprehensive review was conducted of schemes under the National Health Mission, including maternal and child health, family welfare, routine immunisation, vaccination, Ayushman Bharat, high-risk pregnancies, non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, leprosy control, the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojana, OPD and IPD services, bed occupancy, and the UPHMIS health dashboard. The District Magistrate also assessed the National Child Health Programme, Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre admissions, and RCH portal updates.

Directing officials to improve service delivery, she instructed Community Health Centre (CHC) superintendents to achieve Ayushman Bharat card targets, ensure timely institutional deliveries, strengthen routine immunisation, regularly update the e-Kavach portal, and monitor the implementation of all health schemes. She emphasised that superintendents should reside at their respective CHCs and conduct periodic reviews with subordinate staff to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.

The District Magistrate further directed the Chief Medical Officer to monitor the daily attendance of Community Health Officers through live-location tracking and ensure the presence of Auxiliary Nurse Midwives at all sub-centres. She also ordered the rational deployment of staff by transferring personnel from overstaffed CHCs to facilities facing shortages to maintain smooth operations.

Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sant Lal Patel, senior health officials, representatives of WHO and UNICEF, CHC superintendents, and officials from allied departments attended the meeting.
